Hawthorn Life
Established in 2004 and based in Swords, Co Dublin, Hawthorn Life was previously known as Hartford Life Limited ("HLL") and was the European subsidiary of The Hartford Financial Services Group.
In June 2013, Columbia Insurance Company, a Berkshire Hathaway company, agreed to buy Hartford Life Limited for a cash consideration of $285 million. The name of the firm was changed to Hawthorn Life shortly after.
