Essilor
Essilor Ireland is the Irish division of global lens maker Essilor. It has operated in Ireland since 1973 and now employs more than 350 people here. At its peak, it employed 700, but cut back its Irish operations in 2012.
In 1984 Essilor Ireland Sales was established to service the needs of Irish Opticians. Today this company is one of the leading optical suppliers in Ireland for high-tech ophthalmic lenses, instruments and glazing services.
Essilor itself has been in existence for more than 160 years and has a presence in more than 100 countries.
The company also develops and sells equipment for prescription laboratories, particularly through its subsidiary Satisloh, as well as instruments and services designed for optical professionals.
